Yesterday SAP’s Charles Gadalla and ASUG Volunteer Joyce Butler launched the start of the ASUG SAP Predictive Analytics Council. The focus of this council is “exploratory analytics” which according to SAP Analytics on twitter is the “Next generation analytics is analytics powered by math but for human consumption”

Figure 3 covers the participant profile that SAP/ASUG is looking for – the business Analyst/designer; IT who keep data in right shape. You do not need math degree; the plan for this product is “just a few clicks”

The legend for Figure 4 is as follows:
- Green SAP embedded apps
- Blue is on the cloud
- Red on premise
- Automated Predictive Library – grey
Plan to make BW available in the automated mode (it is available in Expert mode)
Planned innovations is mostly completed (2.2 my guess)
Exploratory analytics will use Predictive Cloud Services

Figure 5 provides more details or “an idea of where going”
Predictive Analytics 2.2 is already generally available.
Future direction on the right of Figure 5 shows they are “going for ultra wide datasets – unique data manipulation, interrogation”
Simplify includes unifying UI, automated, streamlined, detect faint signals (failing equipment)
Blue means cloud – they completed HEC integration, working on HCP now, and soon have full set of predictive on HCP for exploratory analytics. This is the piece where SAP wants feedback.
